Sterling Heights, MI (Wednesday, July 15, 2020) - On the latest episode of Horsepower Happenings Zach Hiser and Rich Frantz call three of the region's Late Model winners from last weekend; including South Bend Motor Speedway Gambler Super Late Model Winner winner Corey Ryman, Winston Speedway Dirt Late Model Winner Dona Marcoullier, and Thunderbird Raceway Late Model feature winner Travis Stemler.
From Nappanee, Indiana, Ryman collected the richest win of his Outlaw Super Late Model career Saturday when he banked $5,032 from South Bend Motor Speedway during the Denny Nyari Duel as part of the Gambler weekend. Ryman broke down the event and what it took to go to victory lane. Plus, he explained how his faith, music, and racing all work together as part of his busy lifestyle.
Then, Houghton Lake, Michigan's Dona Marcoullier discusses his somewhat controversial race on Friday from Winston Speedway. Starting 12th, Marcoullier drove to the lead and collecting over $3,000 after the $2,500 to win pay-day, and the $600 bounty placed on fellow competitor, Ryan Vanderveen.
Finally, Travis Stemler talks about his 2020 so far with Anklam Racing and his first win with the team from Thunderbird Raceway on Saturday. Stemler also discusses his current points lead in the Lane Automotive Allstar Performance Tri-City/Merritt Speedway Late Model Challenge Series Supported by American Ethanol. Stemler breaks down the points system for the Series and what he thinks it'll take to wrap up the championship at the end of the year.
