Motor City 200 Sunday from Flat Rock Speedway



Rochester Hills, MI (Saturday, June 15, 2019) - Anticipation continues to build for one of the summer’s most exciting, and historic events, the Motor City 200 from Flat Rock Speedway. The event features three divisions, and a total of 200 laps of wheel-to-wheel racing action on one of the State’s most exciting tracks. Fans and drivers alike will not want to miss this blockbuster event, Sunday, June 16th.


Headlining the event are the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, as they do battle for 100 laps. The Motor City 200 marks the third event of the 2019 season, with former Series Champion, Dan Leek coming into the event as the current points leader, with a slim two-point margin over Mandy Chick.

Also on tap, the ICAR Strike Force Energy All-Star Modified Tour for 75 laps of open wheel action. For modifieds, they haven’t seen Flat Rock Speedway in over a decade, going back to September of 2007, when Eric Lee picked up the Modified feature win after setting quick time at a 12.691 second lap time, before leading wire-to-wire in the 50 lap main event.


Now on the schedule for the Sunday afternoon affair is the Midwest Classic Racers Dwarf Car Series. Underway in their 25th season, the MCR Dwarf Car Series brings action packed excitement with their ⅝ scale model vintage cars. A special non-points, 25 lap, feature event is in store for race fans on Sunday afternoon.


Pit Gates are scheduled to open at 10:00, practice begins at 12:00, qualifying is set for 2:00 and racing starts at 3:00. The main grandstands will open at 1:00. Adult tickets are $18 in advance when purchased online at MotorCity200.com. Adult tickets are $24 at the door. Kids are just $3. Flat Rock Speedway is located just south of Detroit on US-24.
