MCRP Joins MARS Late Model Series for Triple Header Weekend

Five Tracks in Three States on MCRP Schedule

Sterling Heights, MI (Thursday, June 25, 2020) - Summer is here and racing across the country is gaining momentum - in turn Motor City Racing Promotions (MCRP) official’s schedule continues to ramp up at race tracks all across the country. This weekend, MCRP officials will service a total of five shows at five different race tracks in three states. The bustling weekend begins Thursday for the season opener with the MARS Super Late Model Series Presented by RIP IT Energy (MARS Racing Series).

Embarking on their inaugural season under the leadership of former LaSalle Speedway promoter, Tony Izzo, Jr, the MARS Racing Series begins their delayed season with a $5,000-to-win showcase from Davenport Speedway in Davenport, IA on Thursday, June 25th. Then, the Series continues their excursion with a stop in Donnellson, IA at Pepsi Lee County Speedway for another $5,000-to-win show on Friday, June 26th, before closing out the weekend at Peoria Speedway in Peoria, IL - again paying $5,000 to the winner. Fans can also view all of the MARS Racing Series events this weekend online at

MCRP officials will be on hand all weekend long providing Driver Registration as well as arranging official Timing & Scoring for the series. MARS Racing Series fans will be able to enjoy all of the action on their Smart Device or Computer by logging onto There, fans will find up-to-the-minute Timing and Scoring throughout the weekend, plus a Live Audio broadcast of Friday and Saturday night’s events. Despite the extensive schedule with the MARS Racing Series, another batch of MCRP Safety Officials will be on site for a full weekend of racing in Michigan.

The 2020 season continues to progress at Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn, Michigan and Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan. Meaning another full program is set to unfold Friday, June 26th and Saturday, June 27th. DIRTcar UMP Late Models will race for $2,500-to-win during the weekly Tri-City show on Friday night - while Pro Stocks will unload for a special $1,000-to-win main event. Saturday, $2,000 is on the line for Late Models, with Pro Stocks racing for $800-to-win.
