Tampa, Fl (Wednesday, February 6, 2019) - A number of drivers from across the country are gathered in Central Florida and East Bay Raceway Park for the 43rd Annual DirtCar Nationals. Some drivers with American Ethanol Late Model Tour history are in attendance as well, including Brian Shirley, Dennis Erb Jr., and Rusty Schlenk. Night one wasn’t great for the AELMT folks, with Shirley setting fast time in Group B, before relying on a provisional to make the show, finishing 25th. Moyer and Erb struggled as well finishing 22nd and 15th respectively. Tyler Erb, Josh Richards and Brandon Sheppard completed the podium on Monday night. Night two went better for most, with Shirley going runner up in his heat before posting a Top 10 in the feature. Erb posted a podium finish during the main event, coming in third behind Earl Pearson, Jr and two-in-a-row feature winner Tyler Erb. Former AELMT feature winner Billy Moyer, Jr finished 9th. MCRP staff reported a very good racing surface on Tuesday from start to finish, with zero track prep in between races. More details on the DirtCar Nationals on this week’s edition of Horsepower Happenings, Monday night at 7:00 P.M. EST on the Motor City Racing Network.
