Lake Odessa, MI (Thursday, July 25, 2019) - As the 2019 season heats up, drivers are preparing for Merritt Speedway’s largest take home prize. August 2nd and 3rd, over $10,000 will be on the line during the 31st Running of the Ed Vanduinen WoodTic Presented by American Ethanol.
The historic event brings the traditional WoodTic format that includes two days of racing. On Friday, August 2nd, fans will be treated to American Ethanol Late Model Tour Qualifying, a Four Car Dash, Heat Races and a Dash for Cash Race. The Senior Insurance Four Car Dash will feature the four fastest overall qualifiers in American Ethanol Qualifying and will pay $500 to the winner. Heat races will be important as the top two cars will transfer directly into the Dash for Cash Race. Heat races pay $100 to win and the Dash for Cash Race pays $500 to win.
Saturday, August 3rd the action ramps up even more as drivers prepare for the $10,000 that awaits the winner in YellowHose.com Victory Lane. A pair of 26-Lap Odd/Even Races will set the starting lineup for the 74-Lap WoodTic. The Odd Race will lineup the inside row and the Even Race will lineup the outside row. The top eight finishers from each race are locked into the A-Main and the top three will draw for starting positions one through six. Everyone else goes to the Thirlby Automotive Last Chance Qualifier(s).

The 2nd Annual Dan Salay Memorial race is conducted in conjunction with this year's WoodTic at Merritt Speedway. The Memorial event provides race teams with even more prize money and additional bonuses on top of an already big event. Racing with the American Ethanol Late Model Tour during WoodTic weekend are the UMP Modifieds, B Modifieds, Lightning Sprints, Pro Stocks, Factory Stocks, Four Cylinders and Mini Wedges. Racing is slated to begin at 7:00pm both nights with Mini Wedge action beginning at 3:00pm on Saturday.
